Dates for Rams' joint practices with Cowboys and Saints officially set

It was previously reported that the Los Angeles Rams planned to hold two joint practices this summer with the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. On Monday, the dates of those two practices became official.

The NFL announced joint practice dates for every team that will hold one this summer, including the Rams’ two sessions. The Rams will be the home team for both practices, so they’re hosting the Cowboys and Saints in Los Angeles.

According to the NFL’s announcement, the Rams will practice with the Cowboys on Aug. 11 and with the Saints on Aug. 20. The Rams are scheduled to begin training camp on July 25, as well.

Below are the dates of every scheduled joint practice so far.

Only the Jaguars, Saints and Titans will have more joint practices than the Rams, as they will hold three each. In addition to the Rams, 11 other teams will have two joint practices, 13 teams will have one joint practice and four teams won’t have any.

Sean McVay puts a huge emphasis on joint practices because he keeps his starters out of preseason action, so these practices allow them to get in quality work against other teams in a controlled setting where injuries are less likely to happen than in a preseason game.
