Campbellsport Fire Department and Campbellsport Ambulance responded alongside deputies, with additional assistance from Fond du Lac Fire Rescue and West Bend Ambulance.

Investigators believe one vehicle traveling south on Mill Pond Road did not yield the right-of-way to a vehicle traveling north on Fond du Lac County V. Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, according to the news release.

The northbound driver, a 68-year-old Kewaskum woman, died of her injuries at SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital while personnel were preparing for transfer to ThedaStar Medical Transport. A 16-year-old Kewaskum girl from the vehicle was treated for minor injuries at St. Agnes Hospital.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 21-year-old Campbellsport man, was taken to St. Agnes Hospital for minor injuries. According to the news release, he was then arrested on suspicion of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail. His passenger, a 20-year-old Kewaskum man, received minor injuries and was released at the scene.

Fond du Lac County V closed between Haven Drive and Century Drive for about 90 minutes for the investigation and to clear the roadway.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash. No other information, including the names of those involved, was released at this time.
