Check out who's coming to Milwaukee for Brewers alumni game

The Milwaukee Brewers announced a list of former players set to return for the Alumni Legends Game, a first-time endeavor that will follow the current Brewers’ battle Friday, July 24 against the Colorado Rockies. That game will have an unusual 3:10 p.m. CT start time.

More than 30 former players will compete in the Legends Game, scheduled to begin 20 minutes after last pitch. It’s a follow-up to the team’s successful alumni home-run derby almost exactly one year earlier.

The roster includes players from the past 25 years at American Family Field, part of a broader celebration of a quarter-century inside the stadium. Former general managers Doug Melvin and Gord Ash will square off as opposing GMs, assembling the rosters coached by former Brewers coaches Ed Sedar and Garth Iorg.

The game will last three innings or one hour, whichever comes first. If it ends in a tie, the players will engage in a tiebreaking home-run derby swing-off.

The Brewers are selling a special ticket package with the game, including a limited-edition bowling shirt, an autographed photo card from a participating alumnus. Pregame beer ($2.50) and brats ($2.50) will be discounted for the occasion, with 25% off select merchandise at the Brewers Team Store before first pitch of the 3:10 p.m. game.

The alumni will also hang out in the concourses for photo opportunities from 1:50 p.m. to 2:25 p.m. CT.

The list of participating players includes Geoff Jenkins and Corey Hart, players who just made cameos in Milwaukee during the sold-out Banana Ball showcase at American Family Field.

Ryan Braun, Bill Hall, Nyjer Morgan, Jonathan Lucroy and Richie Sexson will all be on hand, as will pitchers like Ben Sheets and Yovani Gallardo. Several notable contributors to the 2018 NLCS qualifier will be involved, including Manny Piña, Mike Moustakas, Jesús Aguilar, Travis Shaw, Eric Thames, Erik Kratz, Jeremy Jeffress, Corey Knebel, Chase Anderson and Eric Sogard.

Among those not on the list are Prince Fielder and Carlos Gómez, both of whom appeared in the home-run derby a year ago, nor is home-run derby champ Keon Broxton. Newly minted Hall of Famer CC Sabathia is also not on the list.
