One killed, 3 more injured in crash on US 62 in Holmes County

BERLIN TOWNSHIP – A Millersburg resident was killed in a crash involving two vehicles on US 62 near Township Road 626 in Holmes County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, which occurred at approximately 8:41 p.m., June 21.

The preliminary investigation indicates a blue, 2016 Honda Pilot was traveling westbound on US 62 and a red, 2018 Jeep Cherokee was traveling eastbound US 62. The Honda traveled left of center and struck the Jeep in the eastbound lane of US 62. After impact, the Honda came to rest on the southbound berm of US 62 and the Jeep came to rest on the northbound berm of US 62, according to a news release.

Renee E. Troyer, 49, of Millersburg, was operating the Honda Pilot and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Laura L. Troyer, 32, of Millersburg, was operating the Jeep Cherokee and was flown by Metro Life Flight to Summa Health Center in Akron with serious injuries.

Two juveniles were passengers in the Jeep Cherokee and were flown to Akron Children’s Hospital by Metro Life Flight and MedFlight in critical condition

The crash is currently still under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the East Holmes Fire & EMS, Millersburg EMS, MedFlight, Metro Life Flight, ODOT & Rigz Towing.
