Ranking Christian Anderson's best moments, games with Texas Tech basketball

Christian Anderson is set to become the first Texas Tech basketball player taken in the first round of the NBA Draft since 2019.

Anderson spent two very successful seasons with the Red Raiders, upping his game each year and becoming an All-American and the program’s record holder for assists in a season. In that time, there’s plenty of great highlights from Anderson’s tenure with Texas Tech, but what are the best of the best?

Here are the top five games of Anderson’s time at Texas Tech.

5. Christian Anderson shows defensive side against West Virginia

Chance McMillian was sidelined with an injury, giving Christian Anderson his first career start at home against West Virginia. He responded with 21 points on 5-of-8 shooting from 3-point range, added four assists and four rebounds and held down West Virginia’s high-scoring guard Javon Small, limiting him to 3-of-14 shooting and 1-of-6 from 3 for just 10 points

4. New career-high in NCAA Tournament comeback win over Arkansas

During Texas Tech’s first two NCAA Tournament games in 2025, Anderson struggled to find his rhythm, shooting just 4-of-18 in wins over UNC Wilmington and Drake. But when Texas Tech needed everything to overcome. a 16-point deficit against Arkansas in the Sweet 16, Anderson came through, posting what was a career-high 22 points that included a key 3-pointer late in regulation before Texas Tech completed the comeback in overtime.

3. Raining 3s on Baylor

It was a hot shooting night for everyone in a Texas Tech uniform as the Red Raiders tied a Big 12 record with 14 3-pointers in the first half against Baylor. Anderson was heavily involved with the perimeter success, going 8-for-10 from 3 and finishing with 26 points in the romp.

2. Flirting a with triple-double in 2025-26 season opener

In his first game as Texas Tech’s true No. 1 point guard and playing reigning Big 12 player of the year JT Toppin and preseason newcomer of the year LeJuan Watts, Anderson showed he can run a team just fine, flirting with a triple-double in the season-opening win over Lindenwood. Anderson finished with 34 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds and just one turnover.

1. Leading Texas Tech to comeback win over Duke in MSG

The Red Raiders trailed by 17 in the second half. JT Toppin and LeJuan Watts were in constant foul trouble. Duke had national player of the year Cameron Boozer. Things felt over and deflating. Then Anderson took over.

In the final 16:31 of the game, Anderson accounted for 23 points and three assists leading to another seven points. In total, the Tech point guard was responsible for 30 of Tech’s final 41 points to give the Red Raiders an 82-18 win over the Blue Devils.
