A Michigan State football recruiting target is off the board and heading to an ACC school instead.
RJ Clem of Logansport, Ind. announced his commitment to Wake Forest on Sunday following his official visit with the Demon Deacons this weekend. According to 247Sports, Clem visited Michigan State last weekend but it was Wake Forest who ultimately landed the commitment from him.
Clem is an offensive lineman prospect in the 2027 class. He is listed at 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, and is unrated by 247Sports at the moment.
Michigan State got the first crack at Clem with the official visit last weekend but clearly something didn’t line up for a commitment out of that visit. It may be a situation where Michigan State is holding out for another prospect at offensive tackle and Clem didn’t want to wait around. Or it could have simply been that Wake Forest won the battle head-to-head with the Spartans. Either way, Clem is heading to the ACC and will not be a future Spartan.
