There were 88 routine inspections for restaurants, bars and mobile establishments in Peoria County for May. Just over 19% received no violations.
American Kolache, at 1618 N. Knoxville Ave. in Peoria, was among those to boast a perfect inspection. Franchise owner Melanie Wolf told the Journal Star the team works hard to ensure food is safe, properly stored and handled correctly.
“I was really pleased with the results of our health department inspection, it most definitely reflected the hard work of our team at American Kolache!” Wolf said in a statement.
The business opened its doors last December, serving sweet and savory dinner-roll sized pastries called kolaches.
