FSU is 'standing out' to local running back target

Thomasville County Central is coming off a state championship in Georgia and once again has a roster loaded with future college players. The FSU Seminoles are looking to take advantage of their proximity to the perennial power and are in the mix for several of their ascending players.

Running back Jordan McNeil had a breakout season as a sophomore, finishing the season with 59 carries for 566 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 9.6 yards per carry. With him likely becoming the starter as a junior, he is poised to have an even better season and see his recruitment take off even more.

The Seminoles were one of the first Power Conference schools to extend him an offer, doing so on Jan. 24. They have hosted him on two visits since then, and they are among the schools “standing out” in his recruitment, according to 247Sports.

While the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, NC State Wolfpack, and Virginia Tech Hokies were also mentioned, the Seminoles and Penn State Nittany Lions are reportedly “making their mark.”

McNeil is not currently ranked, but that will be changing once recruiting sites expand their rankings for the 2028 recruiting class. Athlete Chayse Brown is currently FSU’s only commitment in the 2028 cycle.
