Monroe County Executive Adam Bello is urging residents to remain cautious Friday morning as crews continue cleaning up damage and restoring power following Thursday’s high winds.
The storm brought down trees, power lines and other hazards across the county, leaving thousands without electricity and creating travel challenges.
Monroe County’s Emergency Operations Center continues to monitor power outages, traffic incidents and 911 call volumes while coordinating with utilities, emergency dispatchers, law enforcement and fire agencies to prioritize restoration efforts, Bello said.
“Though the most severe weather has passed, residents should continue to use extra caution when driving and plan extra time to arrive at destinations as crews are still actively working to clean up debris and restore power in many areas of the county,” Bello said in a statement.
