BATTLE CREEK – Meet the Battle Creek Enquirer 2026 All-Enquirer Girls Soccer Team. The team is made up of members of the city and area girls soccer teams and voted on by the city and area coaches and the Battle Creek Enquirer sports staff.

Ali Bates
Gull Lake
The leading scorer for Gull Lake, Ali Bates finished with 16 goals and 10 assists as a forward, helping Gull Lake to a Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference title as the team went 14-1-3 overall and finished the regular season ranked No. 2 in the state in Division 2. The forward is a return selection to the All-Enquirer team and all-conference pick.
Samantha Bernard
Coldwater
A key leader for a Coldwater team that went 8-8-1 on the season, Samantha Bernard was a senior forward for the Cardinals as she led the team with 17 goals and 14 assists. Bernard earned all-conference honors in the Interstate 8 Conference.
Addison Burkett
Olivet
A team captain, Addison Burkett has been the backbone of the Olivet defense as the team’s center back the last two years. Burkett helped the Eagles defense only allow 19 goals in 22 games as she earned all-league honors with four goals and five assists.
Isabella Calderon
Lakeview
A standout leader as a junior, Isabella Calderon was a team captain as a third-year varsity player who helped the Spartans to a city title and a 14-3-3 record overall. Calderon finished with two goals and two assists as a midfielder/defender, earning all-conference honors.
Bella Carr
Gull Lake
One of the top keepers in the area, Bella Carr played big in net for Gull Lake as the Blue Devils’ goalkeeper had 10 shutouts, including 55 saves and only allowing seven goals in 18 games. Carr helped Gull Lake to a Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference title as the team went 14-1-3 overall and finished the regular season ranked No. 2 in the state in Division 2.
Aivry Chavez
Coldwater
A rising prospect, Aivry Chavez was a junior midfielder for the Cardinals as she had 14 goals and nine assists. Chavez helped Coldwater go 8-8-1 overall and earned all-conference honors in the Interstate 8 Conference.
Tessa Cothron
Gull Lake
One of the top scorers for Gull Lake, Tessa Cothron finished with 10 goals and seven assists as a midfielder, helping Gull Lake to a Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference title as the team went 14-1-3 overall and finished the regular season ranked No. 2 in the state in Division 2.
Leah Downey
St. Philip/Calhoun Christian
As a sophomore, Leah Downey helped the St. Philip/Calhoun Christian co-op team to an 8-7 record overall. Downey finished with 13 goals and 10 assists as she helped her squad reach the district finals in Division 4.
Lilamae Frank
Lakeview
One of the top players in the state, Lilamae Frank will play at the next level next season at Ball State University. Frank is a four-year varsity player and was a senior captain this year as she helped the Spartans to a city title and a 14-3-3 record overall. The forward finished with a team-high 18 goals with 11 assists, earning all-conference honors as a returning All-Enquirer selection.
Madelyn Gallagher
Harper Creek
Madelyn Gallagher was a leader for Harper Creek that controlled the game from her center position, running the field for her team and was a great team leader for her squad. Gallagher helped the Beavers contend for the Interstate 8 Conference title all season, finishing second and 11-4-3 overall.
Mylee Grimm
St. Philip/Calhoun Christian
One of the top scorers in the region, Mylee Grimm had an amazing 34 goals with four assists as a junior striker. A returning member of the All-Enquirer team, Grimm helped the St. Philip/Calhoun Christian co-op team to an 8-7 record overall.
Kilee Halladay
Gull Lake
One of the top scorers for Gull Lake, Kilee Halladay finished with 15 goals and 10 assists as a midfielder, helping Gull Lake to a Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference title as the team went 14-1-3 overall and finished the regular season ranked No. 2 in the state in Division 2. Halladay is a return selection to the All-Enquirer team and all-conference pick.
Brooklyn Hankinson
Harper Creek
Brooklyn Hankinson was among the top goal scorers for Harper Creek and was always a threat and seemingly in the right place at the right time. Hankinson helped the Beavers contend for the Interstate 8 Conference title all season, finishing second and 11-4-3 overall.
Layla Huffman
Lakeview
With a breakout season as a freshman, Layla Huffman was one of the top scorers for a Lakeview team that won a city title and advanced to the district championship game, finishing 14-3-3 overall. Huffman had 11 goals and seven assists.
Abbigail Kline
Lakeview
Combining impressive speed with a standout work ethic, Abbigail Kline is a two-year varsity player and helped the Spartans to a city title and a 14-3-3 record overall. The striker/midfielder finished with nine goals with 10 assists, earning all-conference honors.
Linda Lopez
Battle Creek Central
An improving player as a junior and second-year varsity player, Linda Lopez helped keep Battle Creek Central in games from her goaltender spot with 94 saves. Leading a young team, Lopez earned all-league honors in the Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference.
Anna Loritz
Harper Creek
One of our top scorers for Harper Creek, even as a defender, Anna Loritz helped stretch the field and could handle the ball up the field and keep possession. Earning all-conference and all-district honors, Loritz helped the Beavers contend for the Interstate 8 Conference title all season, finishing second and 11-4-3 overall.
Addison Mitchell
Harper Creek
Harper Creek was a contender for the Interstate 8 Conference title all season, finishing second and 11-4-3 overall. Addison Mitchell is a team captain and earned all-conference honors as well as all-district.
Lillian Moore
Marshall
A senior defender, Lillian Moore was a key to the Marshall defense as a center back as she helped Marshall to an outright Interstate 8 Conference title and a 10-6-2 record overall. Moore earned all-conference honors and was an honorable mention All-Enquirer selection a year ago. She finished her senior season with four goals and an assist.
Victoria Murphy
Olivet
The leading scorer all four seasons for Olivet, Victoria Murphy again led the way with 22 goals and three assists. The team captain and forward/midfielder, Victoria Murphy helped the Eagles to a 10-9-3 record overall and earned all-league honors.
Lauren Niemann
Marshall
As a first-year member of the varsity team, Lauren Niemann had a breakout season as a goalkeeper and was one of the most improved players in the program as a junior. With good size to be in the net, Niemann finished with six shutouts and a 1.06 goals against average. An all-conference pick, Niemann helped Marshall to an outright Interstate 8 Conference title and a 10-6-2 record overall.
Peyton Rhoades
Pennfield
A senior captain, Peyton Rhoades is a return selection to the All-Enquirer team and earned all-league honors this season. Rhoades played several positions, including forward, midfielder and center back and helped Panthers go 6-10-1 overall. Rhoades led Pennfield with 23 goals and one assist.
Danika Rothchild
Pennfield
The backbone of the Pennfield defense, Danika Rothchild was big in the net all season as the Panthers goaltender. Rothchild was a senior captain for Pennfield and earned all-league honors as she helped the Panthers go 6-10-1 overall. She finished with 180 saves.
Ollie Rozell
Marshall
Ollie Rozell helped Marshall to an outright Interstate 8 Conference title and a 10-6-2 record overall. The senior forward finished with 15 goals and 19 assists, including five game-winning goals and five game-winning assists. A team captain, Rozell is a two-time all-conference selection and a returning member of the All-Enquirer team.
Lola Saber
Marshall
With a breakout junior season, Lola Saber took over the forward position for Marshall and became a force on the front line. Saber helped Marshall to an outright Interstate 8 Conference title and a 10-6-2 record overall as she earned all-conference honors. Saber finished with 12 goals and four assists, including two game-winning goals.
Bianca Sanchez
Battle Creek Central
A third-year varsity player and second-year captain, Bianca Sanchez is a returning member of the All-Enquirer team. Sanchez was a leader on a young Bearcats team as she finished with five goals and earned all-league honors in the Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference for the second year in a row.
Kenadie Schuemann
Gull Lake
A standout defender, Kenadie Schuemann helped Gull Lake come up with 10 shutouts on the season. Schuemann helped Gull Lake to a Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference title as the team went 14-1-3 overall and finished the regular season ranked No. 2 in the state in Division 2.
Jordyn St. John
Marshall
A senior midfielder, Jordyn St. John is a repeat selection on the All-Enquirer team and is a second-year all-conference pick. As a conduit between the defense and the attack, St. John helped Marshall to an outright Interstate 8 Conference title and a 10-6-2 record overall. She finished with a goal and seven assists.
Madeleine Thawnghmung
Lakeview
A key defender, Madeleine Thawnghmung is a three-year varsity player and helped the Spartans to a city title and a 14-3-3 record overall. The defenseman/midfielder finished with nine goals with five assists, earning all-conference honors as a returning All-Enquirer selection.
Rylee Zumer
Harper Creek
Harper Creek’s brick wall on the back end, Rylee Zumer was a leader for the Beavers from her goaltending spot with several clean sheets on the season. Zumer was a team captain as she helped the Beavers contend for the Interstate 8 Conference title all season, finishing second and 11-4-3 overall.
