June is full of activities. Here are five events you might want to check out in the Peoria area this weekend.
Chillicothe Days festival
Chillicothe Days (formerly Claud-Elen Days) will be held June 17-20 at City Park on Second Street in Chillicothe. Activities throughout the weekend will include a carnival, fish fry, Mr. and Miss Chillicothe contests, pet parade, talent contest, live entertainment and more. Heritage Days in Princeville

Jubilee Day: A Juneteenth Celebration
Celebrate freedom, unity and Peoria’s rich Black history at Jubilee Day: A Juneteenth Celebration on Friday, June 19, on the Peoria riverfront. This free event will include entertainment, food trucks, family fun and a Juneteenth-themed drone show to close the evening. A full schedule of events will be available soon at www.peoriaparks.org.
Tom Petty tribute experience
Free Fallin-The Tom Petty Concert Experience will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at CEFCU Center Stage on the Peoria Riverfront. The show will features all the hits and includes instruments and clothes that re-create the authentic experience of a Tom Petty concert. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $13 in advance at www.peoriaparks.org or $20 at the gate.
An evening of comedy and magic with Lucy Darling
Comedian, magician and social media star Lucy Darling will bring her “You’re Welcome” tour to the Prairie Home Alliance Theater at the Peoria Civic Center at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. The show will also feature musician and juggler Mark Ettinger. Tickets start at $50 and can be purchased at www.peoriaciviccenter.com.
