A total of 13 establishments in Tazewell County received no violations during routine food inspections in May.
The establishments with no violations were among approximately 60 inspections conducted last month by the Health Department.
Kamaela’s Kreamery, a mobile pop-up ice cream stand, was among the businesses that had no violations. Kamaela’s operates primarily in Peoria County but was subject to a Tazewell County inspection while the stand was in Washington.
Kamaela’s owner Kami Stahl said running a mobile establishment and operating in multiple counties presents a challenge because every county has different standards, rules and regulations. But Stahl’s team has been equal to the challenges.
“They are super hard workers and definitely like to keep things clean,” Stahl said. “They’re always putting in whatever extra effort is needed.”
