Indiana Fever vs. Toronto Tempo: Caitlin Clark stats, points

Entering with a three-game winning streak, Caitlin Clark and Indiana (8-5) welcome Toronto (7-7) to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a Tuesday night tilt and the first meeting between the Fever and the newly-formed Tempo organization.

Tonight will be the first of three meetings this season between the two franchises. The Tempo enter the inaugural meeting on a two-game losing streak, including a 102-77 thrashing at the hands of the Atlanta Dream on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark is coming off a 25-point performance that saw the former Hawkeye shoot 10-for-17 from the field and 5-of-10 from 3-point land in Saturday evening’s 85-75 road win over Connecticut. The 6-foot superstar passed a Sabrina Ionescu mark in the process by dishing out five assists.

Indiana leads Toronto by 12 points entering the fourth quarter behind stellar play from Kelsey Mitchell’s 25 points, Sophie Cunningham’s 17 points, and Aliyah Boston’s double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Clark has 13 points so far on 3-for-11 shooting, 0-for-5 from 3-point range, and 7-for-10 from the free throw line, to go along with 13 assists, four rebounds, and one steal in 26 minutes of play.

With 3:43 left in the third quarter, Myisha Hines-Allen checks back into the game after leaving with an injury in the first quarter.

Clark is now up to 13 points so far on 3-for-11 shooting, 0-for-5 from 3-point range, and 7-for-10 from the free throw line, to go along with 12 assists, four rebounds, and one steal in 23 minutes of play.

The Tempo are challenging for a potential flagrant foul as one of the Toronto players is down in a noticeable amount of pain.

Caitlin Clark Double-Double

Clark picks up her 22nd career double-double with her 10th assist of the game to pair with her 11 points early in the third quarter.

At the halftime break, Indiana leads Toronto by three points after a back-and-forth opening two quarters of play in Indianapolis.

Clark is now up to nine points so far on 3-for-9 shooting, 0-for-3 from 3-point range, and 3-for-4 from the free throw line, to go along with eight assists, three rebounds, and one steal in 18 minutes of play.

If the former Hawkeye scores a single point and records another assist, she will have secured the 22nd double-double of her career.

Indiana Fever Injury Update

After taking an inadvertent hit to the face in the first quarter that drew blood, Myisha Hines-Allen has been ruled “questionable” to return to tonight’s game.

After a back-and-forth pace of play, the Tempo called a timeout after Caitlin Clark’s nifty no-look behind-the-back pass found an open Makayla Timpson for an easy lay-up.

Clark is now up to seven points so far on 2-for-7 shooting, 0-for-2 from 3-point range, and 3-for-4 from the free throw line, but does have six assists, one rebound, and one steal in 15 minutes of play.

Stephanie White calls a timeout as Toronto went on a quick 6-0 scoring run after Caitlin Clark’s three free throws.

Clark is now up to five points so far on 1-for-6 shooting, 0-for-2 from 3-point range, and 3-for-4 from the free throw line, but does have five assists and one rebound in 11 minutes of play.

End of First Quarter: Fever 26, Tempo 20

At the end of the first quarter, Indiana leads by six points thanks to a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Sophie Cunningham to close out an energetic and physical opening 10 minutes.

Despite getting quality looks, Clark is still scoreless so far on 0-for-5 shooting and 0-for-2 from 3-point range, but does have four assists in eight minutes of play.

Both Indiana and Toronto are active to start this game, opening the first quarter with a physical style of play.

Clark is currently scoreless on 0-for-4 shooting and 0-for-2 from 3-point range, but does have three assists in 5 minutes of play.
