The New York Giants signed veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year deal earlier this offseason.
The route runner will look to shine in his return to New York. Assuming he makes the 53-man roster, Beckham will suit up for the Giants in 2026 for the first time in seven seasons, and the superstar was reportedly playing at a high level during mandatory minicamp last week.
ESPN insider Jordan Raanan recently broke down which Giants receiver on the roster bubble stood out most during minicamp, and he quickly settled on OBJ.
It was Beckham who perhaps made the biggest impact at minicamp. He was wide open on a busted coverage Tuesday at practice and hauled in a deep pass from quarterback Jaxson Dart. He made a tough, contested catch 15 yards downfield on a pass from Dart later in practice.
The biggest question with Beckham, the former Pro Bowl receiver who starred for the Giants from 2014-17, isn’t whether he can make plays — it’s whether he can stay healthy. He seemed to have gotten nicked up and limped around for a few seconds after multiple plays during the first two tough days of minicamp. As it turned out, he was fine, but it’s something to keep an eye on going forward.
Beckham was not on an NFL roster at any point during the 2025 season. The veteran most recently spent the 2024 season with the Dolphins, where he hauled in 55 yards on nine receptions over nine appearances.
Beckham was nothing short of a superstar during the first five seasons of his career in New York. A three-time Pro Bowler, he can quickly begin producing consistently in 2026, and his efforts throughout minicamp were an excellent sign moving forward.
