Ohio State football coach Ryan Day is set to be inducted into New Hampshire’s athletics Hall of Fame in October.
Day was the starting quarterback for the Wildcats from 1991-01, throwing for 7,670 yards and 53 touchdowns over three seasons.
As the first to attempt more than 1,000 career passes at New Hampshire, he set nine program records during his career, including his 59.9% completion percentage and 8,492 yards of total offense. His career yards and touchdowns are now fifth on the school’s all-time list.
Day was also selected as one of the Wildcats’ team captains as a senior in 2001.
The university’s class of 2026 also includes Sean McDonnell, the Wildcats’ second-winningest coach, who was elevated to lead the program during Day’s first year behind center. He retired in 2021.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for Oct. 4, part of New Hampshire’s homecoming weekend and a day after the Buckeyes visit Iowa.
Day is a native of New Hampshire and attended Manchester Central High School before ending up at the university.
The Buckeyes are scheduled to host New Hampshire, a member of the Football Championship Subdivision, for a nonconference game in 2027.
