FSU softball star shortstop Isa Torres is entering the transfer portal, according to D1Softball. She had a record-breaking junior year for the Seminoles and is one of the best players in program history.
Torres, who is from Georgetown, Texas, had one of the best seasons in NCAA history in 2026 and was the ACC Player and Defender of the Year, D1Softball Player of the Year, and a consensus First-Team All-American. She broke the school records for batting average (.530), runs (78), slugging percentage (.978), and on-base percentage (.591).
She set the NCAA record for hits in consecutive at-bats with 16, and her 98 hits were the second-most in school history. She made just two errors on the season to go with 16 home runs, 21 doubles, and 13 stolen bases, all of which were new career highs.
Torres had been a contributor since she arrived to Tallahassee, playing in and starting 175 games in her three seasons as a Seminole. She finished her FSU career with a .439 batting average, a .484 on-base percentage, and a .724 slugging percentage. She had 261 hits, 34 home runs, 49 doubles, and 158 RBI.
She was a back-to-back First-Team All-American and a Freshman All-American. She is the second starter from FSU’s 2026 team to enter the transfer portal, joining third baseman Jaysoni Beachum, another three-year starter and All-American. Torres is the fourth FSU player overall to enter the transfer portal, which officially opened on Monday.
