Congratulations to Boyne City’s Bella Jewett on being named Athlete of the Week last week after earning 46.76% of the vote last week.

Jewett has had a big first season with the Rambler softball team, becoming a key bat that’s helped Boyne earn district and regional titles this season. Harbor Springs’ Claire Miller was runner-up last week.

Vote for these athletes from Monday, June 8 to 4 p.m., Thursday, June 11. Look for another Moore Mechanical Athlete of the Week from the Petoskey-area next week.

To have athletes included, make sure game results/stats/records are sent to Drew Kochanny of the News-Review at dkochanny@petoskeynews.com or texted before 8 a.m., Monday.

Landen Whisler, Charlevoix golf

Whisler helped the Rayders claim a Division 4 state championship with a 12th place finish as an individual, shooting 81-81–162.

Addy Stanek, Boyne City softball

Stanek came up big in both regional games for Boyne City at the plate, going 2-for-6 with a pair of doubles, two RBIs and a run scored.

Lynus Cadarette, Harbor Light baseball

Cadarette brought his bat to the regional semifinal for the Swordsmen, going 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, though the Swordsmen dropped a heartbreaking walk-off.

Lilly Barnadyn, Harbor Springs soccer

Barnadyn helped Harbor Springs to two shutouts on the pitch last week during the regional round, which included a huge game defensively in the regional final against Ovid-Elsie.

William Shepler, Harbor Springs golf

Shepler closed his first season with the Rams with a 16th place finish at the D4 state championships, shooting 84-80–164, which also helped the Rams earn a 6th place finish in the state.
