Florida State battling SEC school for blue-chip WR target

Florida State got a huge commitment in its 2027 class on Sunday when it flipped four-star safety Jernard Albright from the South Carolina Gamecocks after he took a surprise visit. However, they had four-star wide receiver Sean Green on campus as well.

It’s no secret that the Seminoles see Green as its top priority as they look for their first commitment of the cycle at his position. They’ve been projected to land the 5-foot-10, 175-pounder, and he had a great time on his visit.

There’s another school, the Georgia Bulldogs, that is also pushing hard for Green as things come down to the wire. When he spoke about Florida State’s status with him in relation to Georgia, Green said that it’s pretty much neck and neck.

“They’re still around the top, still a tight race,” Green told Warchant.

The Seminoles had a secret weapon regarding getting Green to commit on campus as well, and it was three-star quarterback commit Logan Flaherty. He’s been adamant about helping the Seminoles build their 2027 class, and he made sure that he was around Green a lot during his visit.

According to the Camden County High School standout, there wasn’t a lot of football that was discussed between him and Flaherty. With that said, Flaherty mentioned that he and Green did bond over the weekend, and that he feels FSU certainly improved its chances of getting a pledge from him.

Green is expected to make his decision shortly after he takes his official visit to the Virginia Cavaliers this coming weekend. This could be another big win for head coach Mike Norvell in recruiting, which is something the program needs immensely.

Rivals’ industry rankings have Green listed as the No. 292 overall prospect and the No. 44 wide receiver in the country. They also have him ranked as the No. 31 recruit coming out of the state of Georgia.
