El Paso police are seeking information to identify a man armed with a knife who robbed a motel along Interstate 10 in the East Side.
The violent robbery occurred minutes before 4 a.m. on May 7 at the Quality Inn, 900 N. Yarbrough Drive next to Gateway East Boulevard near Bel Air High School, Crime Stoppers of El Paso said.
The unsolved case is the Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week.
“In this particular case, the suspect walked in, rushed up to the counter, jumped over the counter, threatened the clerk with a knife and ended up pulling money out of the cash drawer,” Crime Stoppers liaison Sgt. Javier Sambrano said in a news release.
The robber is believed to have fled in a red SUV on Gateway East, Crime Stoppers added
The man was about 5 feet 11 inches tall with a medium to large build and had his face covered with the hood of a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and a black facemask. He wore black gloves, dark-colored pants and brown shoes, police said.
Anyone with information on the motel robbery may anonymously call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-8477 (TIPS). Tipsters could be eligible for a cash reward if information leads to an arrest.
