The Texas A&M Aggies have started the month of June red-hot on the recruiting trail, landing four new commits as they continue to solidify their No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class. They received more good news on Friday, and this time it is about a player already committed to the program.
Four-star safety JayQuan Snell told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he is “locked in” with the Aggies and has canceled his official visits to see the Texas Tech Red Raiders and Texas Longhorns. Snell has been committed to Texas A&M since Nov. 11, 2025, but the Red Raiders and Longhorns have never stopped recruiting the Waxahachie, Texas, product.
Snell is ranked as the No. 40 overall player and No. 2 safety in the Rivals industry ranking. He is also the No. 7 player from Texas.
He had a productive career at Waxahachie High School. In the past two seasons, he has recorded 146 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, one interception, 12 pass breakups, five forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries.
He is one of the key pieces in Texas A&M’s 2027 recruiting class, which currently has 19 commits. They have done a great job in the secondary, landing the top two safeties in the country in Snell and Kamarui Dorsey. They also boast commitments from five-star cornerback Raylaun Henry and three-star athletes Loia Valade and Errol Kerns III, who are both expected to play in the secondary.
