Freshman sensation headlines girls tennis all-county team

Bi-Neh Awantang was named the Bay County girls tennis player of the year after a standout freshman season. Awantang boasted a 6-0 singles record and a 6-0 doubles record en route to a singles district championship and a state semifinal finish.

Coach of the Year: DaShoan Olds (Rutherford)

The Lady Rams went 5-5 this season with sisters Bi-Neh and Mbongta Awantang and 8th grader Kennedy Anliker having undefeated singles records.

1st Team All-County

Grace Burt (Sr., Arnold), Emily Feitel (Jr., Bay), Anna Harris (Sr., Bay), Lourdes Jimenez (Jr., Bay), Jade Barnes (Sr., North Bay Haven), Emma Parker (Jr., North Bay Haven), Kennedy Anliker (8th, Rutherford), Bi-Neh Awantang (Fr., Rutherford), Mbongta Awantang (Jr., Rutherford), Alexandra McAllister (Fr., Rutherford).

2nd Team All-County

Mairim Ebanks (Sr., Arnold), Ann Mall (Sr., Arnold), Sophia Novikova (Fr., Arnold), Marcela Martinez (Jr., Bay), Aliya Rost (Fr., Bay), Isabella Beach (Fr., Mosley), Alexandra Bense (Fr., Mosley), Olivia Heiser (Sr., Mosley), Jayda Marshall (Sr., Mosley), Sophia Crider (Jr., Rutherford).
