SOUTH BEND — A man was pulled from the St. Joseph River dead on Wednesday, June 3.
The South Bend Fire Department was called to the area of 700 Riverside Drive just before 5:15 Wednesday night, according to a release from the department.
That address is just east of Memorial Hospital.
The water at that point in the river was too shallow to be reached by rescue boat, according to the department, which said firefighters were able to bring the man ashore, but his identity and age were undetermined.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will lead the investigation, according to South Bend Fire.
