INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Fever reserve center Damiris Dantas is day-to-day while she deals with a personal issue, coach Stephanie White said Wednesday.
Dantas was not at the Fever’s Tuesday or Wednesday practice this week, and her status is unknown at this time for Indiana’s game against Atlanta on Thursday.
“She’s dealing with some personal stuff, and we want to give her the time that she needs to be able to deal with that,” White said ahead of practice. “I don’t know (of her status) after today, but we’re just going to give her the time that she needs.”

Dantas, who signed a two-year deal with the Fever on the veteran minimum ahead of the 2026 season, has not played as a coach’s decision in Indiana’s last four games. She had minimal time in the four games before that, averaging 9.3 minutes and 4.0 points per game.
White said that part of those coaching decisions came from the play of Makayla Timpson, who has seen her minutes rise as the season has gone on, and partly because of the type of matchups Portland and Golden State brought.
But she has plans for Dantas to return to the rotation as they play teams like Atlanta, New York, and Washington.
“Small teams playing with versatile lineups, having the versatility that KK brings offensively and defensively, especially when we were in a lot of our switches, has kind of kept DD out of the rotation,” White said ahead of the Fever’s game against Portland on Saturday. “Certainly not something that’s going to continue with the matchups that we have moving forward. When you think about our next three or four games, I expect DD to be back in the rotation.”
