The Amarillo Police Department is investigating a shooting incident reported Tuesday night at Thompson Park in Amarillo that left at least one person injured.
On June 2, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Amarillo officers were dispatched to Thompson Park in response to a report of shots fired.
APD said that while officers were on the way to the call, dispatch advised that a man with serious injuries was being taken by private vehicle to a local hospital.
Officers and investigators with APD’s Violent Crimes Unit were able to find the scene of the shooting at Thompson Park.
Officers with the Violent Crimes Unit are actively investigating this case. No further information was yet available.
