Texas A&M receives prediction to land 2027 4-star LB out of New Jersey

Texas A&M’s massive recruiting weekend has resulted in three commitments in the 2027 cycle over the past two days, as three-star linebacker Aston Whiteside, four-star linebacker/edge Frederick Ards, and three-star athlete Loia Valade announced their intentions on Monday and Tuesday, keeping the Aggies’ 2027 cycle No. 1-ranked class intact.

After landing four linebackers in the 2026 signing class, Texas A&M hosted four-star backer Mikahi Allen for an official visit this weekend, and based on AggieYell insider Joseph Hastings’s recent conversation with Allen’s mother during her son’s OV, the New Jersey native has now received a prediction from On3 insiders Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons to land with Texas A&M ahead of his July 11 commitment.

South Carolina is the primary competitor to watch, while Allen will reportedly take official visits to the Gamecocks this weekend, followed by OVs to Florida State, Syracuse, and the Texas Longhorns over the next four weekends. Either way, Texas A&M made significant progress this weekend, while Allen recently noted that his favorite part of the visit was the “experience this with my family and meeting some of the other players they’re looking to recruit.”

Like most top-ranked linebackers, Allen’s pass-rush potential is notable; he finished his 2025 junior season with 58 tackles, 7 sacks, and 10 tackles for loss, along with 2 interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. According to 247Sports, Allen is currently positioned as the 17th-ranked linebacker and the fourth-ranked prospect in New Jersey.
