LEROY – A 73-year-old Phillips man was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon, June 2, in a two-vehicle crash on State 49 in Dodge County after investigators said his SUV crossed the centerline and collided with a pickup truck.
Dodge County sheriff’s deputies responded about 4:05 p.m. to State 49 and Panzer Road in the town of Leroy for a report of a crash, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said a 2020 Subaru Forester was traveling west when it crossed the centerline and was hit by a 2018 Ram 2500 driven by a 33-year-old Menasha man. Both vehicles caught fire after the crash.
The Phillips man was flown to Aurora Medical Center-Summit with serious injuries. The Menasha man was not injured and was arrested on suspicion of operating while revoked. He was taken to the Dodge County Jail.
Authorities have not released the names of those involved pending family notification. The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team.
Assisting at the scene were Mayville EMS, the Brownsville Fire Department, Brownsville First Responders, Flight for Life, the Dodge County Emergency Response Team and the Dodge County Highway Department.
