Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko continued his scorching Tuesday recruiting run, and the momentum didn’t stop with the 2027 class. Hours after landing two commitments for that cycle, the Aggies struck again, this time looking even further ahead.
On Tuesday night, 2028 four‑star edge rusher Chance Archangel announced his commitment to Texas A&M, choosing the Aggies over Texas, LSU, and Alabama. The timing couldn’t have been better. Archangel had just wrapped up a strong performance at A&M’s on‑campus camp, where the staff got an up‑close look at his explosiveness and frame.
Momentum matters in recruiting, and right now, Texas A&M has all of it. Elko’s staff has built a reputation for evaluation, development, and authenticity and that credibility is now bleeding into future cycles. 247Sports has Archangel ranked No. 253 nationally, the No. 22 edge rusher, and the No. 4 player in Louisiana, becoming the latest early building block in what could be another elite class down the road.
The Aggies are stacking wins on the trail, and Tuesday’s addition shows that the ripple effect is already reaching 2028.
