A 39-year-old Green Bay woman was seriously injured after she was stabbed inside her home June 2, and a 29-year-old Green Bay man has been arrested in connection with the incident, according to the Green Bay Police Department.
Around 10:30 a.m., police were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of North Clay Street on the city’s east side.
When officers arrived, they found the woman and provided first aid, police said. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police said the suspect fled the scene on a blue mountain bike. After a four-hour search, officers located and arrested the man around 2:30 p.m. near Main and Abrams streets.
The man was taken to the Green Bay Police Department for questioning before being booked into the Brown County Jail, police said.
As a precaution, the Green Bay School District placed several nearby schools under a temporary ‘secure the building’ order due to the incident.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing and no additional information is being released at this time.
