FSU softball third baseman Jaysoni Beachum announced that she is entering the transfer portal on Tuesday, sharing the news on social media. The Tallahassee native and former Florida High star spent three seasons with the Seminoles and is a two-time All-American.
“Thank you to FSU and Team 41, 42, & 43 for the opportunity. This was definitely not an easy decision, but it’s time to move on,” she wrote.
Beachum had arguably the best freshman season in program history and was named the NFCA Division I Freshman of the Year after hitting .417 with 16 home runs, 11 doubles, 66 RBI, a .742 slugging percentage, and a .509 on-base percentage.
Her production dipped as a sophomore before she rebounded in a major way in 2026. She hit .406 with 10 home runs, 13 doubles, and 69 RBI. She was named First Team All-ACC and a Second Team All-American by Softball America. She was expected to be a major piece of FSU’s 2027 lineup and will be one of the best players available in the portal.
Beachum ends her FSU career with a .375 batting average, 37 home runs, 35 doubles, 180 RBI, 158 runs scored, and 202 hits. She has a .654 slugging percentage and a .492 on-base percentage. She also plays excellent defense at third, where she has a career fielding percentage of .956.
She is the third FSU player to announce they will be entering the transfer portal this offseason, joining Addie DeLong and Mimi Gooden. The portal will officially open on June 8.
