Aaron Donald admits Myles Garrett trade has him 'thinking' about Rams comeback

Aaron Donald has spoken. Sort of.

With speculation running rampant about Donald potentially coming out of retirement to play alongside Myles Garrett on the Los Angeles Rams’ defense, the future Hall of Famer broke his silence … over text message.

Pat McAfee said Tuesday that he texted Donald to find out if a comeback is possible, and he didn’t dismiss the idea.

“It for sure got me thinking,” Donald told McAfee.

McAfee replied: “Holy s—, can I say that?”

To which Donald said, “35, removed two years ago, got to see if that fire can light back up.”

That’s definitely not a no. He’s at least leaving the door open, which is a new development after he has maintained for years that he has no interest in playing football again.

But with Garrett now in Los Angeles, Donald is considering a return to the field, pursuing what would be his second Super Bowl ring. He alluded to coming back last season if the Rams landed Micah Parsons, and Garrett is an even bigger star.

Michael Brockers hinted at Donald possibly returning on the “Locked On Rams” podcast Monday, as did Trey Wingo on social media. Where there’s smoke, there’s often fire.

But is that fire still in Donald? We’ll see.
