Madison County is looking for a larger share of the tourism revenues in the state — $94 billion in direct spending by visitors and $145 billion in total economic impact in 20024.
So, Madison County Tourism has launched a new marketing strategy as a destination brand and a redesigned website. The “Visit Madison County, NY” brand logo a hand-crafted aesthetic meant to reflect the rural county with farms, rolling hills, an arts scene and friendly small towns.
“This new brand is more than a logo; it’s a statement of who we are and an open invitation to the county,” said Kaytlynn Lynch, Visit Madison County’s executive director, in a statement. “Madison County has extraordinary things to offer: history, art, agriculture, outdoor adventure, genuine community spirit and so much more.”
“Our new brand and website give us the tools to tell that story more powerfully than ever and we are excited about what that visibility means for our local businesses, our residents and the long-term economic vitality of our communities.”

So what specifically does Madison County have to offer? A “remarkable depth of experience,” according to Madison County Tourism.

The county’s reputation as a wedding destination is also growing as couples look for venues in ore scenic, slower paced areas, according to Madison County Tourism.
In Madison County, direct visitor spending totaled $146.4 million n 2024, according to Madison County Tourism. And it led to $65.3 million in local employment income and $9.7 million in county tax revenue.
Madison County Tourism believes that a stronger brand, a redesigned website and a growing “portfolio” of experiences can capture a greater share of tourism activity in the state and bring more tourism money to local communities, according to information on the rebranding sent out by Madison County Tourism.
The redesigned website opens to a video of scenes from the county, suggesting that the county offers rustic beauty, small towns, waterfalls, good food, shopping, golf, at least one spa and events with musical entertainment.
Under the video, users may choose to click for more information on places to stay, things to do, food and drink, or events. Further down, users are given the option to click on titles “Step into Small Town Charm,” “Your Home Away from Home,” or “Embrace Every Season.”
“Research consistently shows that destination websites are among the top influences on traveler decisions,” Lynch said in a statement. “A modern, brand-consistent and visually dynamic digital presence signals professionalism and credibility, encouraging visitors to choose Madison County over competing destinations. The new site is purposefully built to convert curiosity into confirmed trips — and we feel it does this beautifully.”
