1 injured, 1 arrested in Amarillo road rage incident on Coulter

A driver was arrested after a person was reportedly pinned between two vehicles in a road rage incident in Amarillo, police said.

About 1:15 p.m., Friday, May 29, Amarillo Police Department officers responded to a shopping center parking lot near 34th Avenue and Coulter Street on a reported crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

APD said the investigation revealed the incident began as a road rage encounter between the drivers of two vehicles.

After the drivers became involved in a physical altercation, one of the individuals was returning to his vehicle when the other driver allegedly drove into him, pinning him between their two vehicles.

The driver suspected in the incident left the scene and took himself to the Amarillo Police Department. He was identified as 33-year-old Keegan James Cassidy.

Cassidy was arrested on a charge for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Randall County Detention Center.

Information about the other driver’s condition was not available.

APD said the investigation remains ongoing.
