PETOSKEY — One of the drivers in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday, May 31 in Petoskey was arrested on charges of Operating While Intoxicated.
According to the Petoskey Department of Public Safety, officers were dispatched to the area of Charlevoix Avenue and Eppler Road at 5:08 p.m. to the crash involving a moving van and a pick-up truck. Two individuals were evaluated on scene, and another was evaluated and transported to McLaren Northern Michigan hospital for treatment. They have since been released.
One driver was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated Causing Injury, and officers are pursuing additional charges.
Officials said there was also a large fuel spill due to the incident, which was cleaned with the assistance of the city’s Wastewater and Public Works departments as well as Conway Towing.
The road reopened to traffic at around 10:08 p.m. The investigation remains ongoing.
