Trump is planning a UFC fight. Is it helping his polling?

President Donald Trump may have his sights set on the fighting ring, but he’s facing poor reviews from the American public on the economy and himself.

Trump will host an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) match on the White House lawn on June 14, coinciding with Flag Day and his own birthday, part of the U.S. semiquincentennial celebrations, USA TODAY reported.

However, Trump continues to face negative approval ratings from Americans, with his disapproval rating hovering in the upper-50 percentage range among several recent polls. This reached as high as a 59% disapproval rating in a May 22-26 The Economist/YouGov poll.

More recently, a June 1 Rasmussen Reports poll showed a 55% disapproval rating and 43% approval rating for Trump, without reflecting respondents’ party affiliation.

The Real Clear Politics average of recent polls from May 14-31 shows as average 57.4% disapproval rating with 39.9% approval. The last time the average showed Trump with a positive rating was March 12, 2025.

Here’s what to know about Trump’s approval ratings.
