Fifth Third Bank has finalized the list of branches, both legacy Comerica and legacy Fifth Third, closing this summer in Michigan — including 5671 Whitmore Lake Road in Brighton and 3866 E. Grand River Ave. in Howell.
The newly revised list calls for a total of 75 branch closures. The timing will vary by location, but all closures are expected to occur before Sept. 3-4, when Fifth Third intends to convert all customers of Comerica to the company’s system and drop the name for good.
Following the closures, there will be 227 remaining branches in Michigan. Last summer, there were 163 under Fifth Third and 143 under Comerica, according to data from the FDIC. Company representatives have said, despite the closures, users will have a net gain in locations available to them.
Fifth Third acquired Comerica in February.
