Five Monroe County roads will be closed for paving during the coming week and another road will be closed for portions of four days for culvert replacements.
Officials are announcing upcoming road closures as well — a couple of which will last until November and December.
Road closures
Graves Road from Burch to Breeden Road will be closed 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, June 1, for paving.
Benet Lane from the Lawrence County line to Popcorn Road will be closed 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, June 1, and Tuesday, June 2, for paving.
Hartstrait Road between Woodyard and Walcott roads will be closed 6 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, June 1, and Tuesday, June 2, for road patching.
Knightridge Road between Leco Lane and Gross Road will be closed from the area near 3481 S. Knightridge Road, moving south, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 1, through Thursday, June 4, for multiple culvert replacements. While crews work on the north end, residents coming off side roads will have to turn left to access Ind. 446. Once crews move south of an intersection, residents will be able to turn right to access Ind. 446.
Koontz Road between Duvall and Harmony roads will be closed 6 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, through Thursday, June 4, for road patching.
Strain Ridge Road from Stone Ridge to Pointe roads will be closed 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, June 4, through Friday, June 5, for paving.
Upcoming road closures
Mount Tabor Road from Brighton Road to Bottom Road will be closed 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, for paving.
Rockport Road between Cockrell Road and Bolin Lane will be closed from Monday, June 8, through Nov. 13 for bridge removal and replacement. Westbound detour is Rockport Road to That Road (east of Ind. 37) to Victor Pike to Tramway Road and then Rockport Road. Eastbound detour is Rockport Road to Tramway Road to Victor Pike, crossing Ind. 37 to That Road and back to Rockport Road.
Woodyard Road from Curry Pike to Griffith Court will be closed 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, for paving.
Prather Road from Mount Pleasant Road to Bottom Road will be closed 7 a.m.-5 p.m. June 10-11 for paving.
Wampler Road from Sand College Road to Liberty Hollow Road will be closed 7 a.m.-5 p.m. June 12 and June 15 for paving.
Orchard Estates including Courtland, Cider and Winesap courts will be closed 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, June 19, for paving.
Rhorer Road between Sare Road and Jamie Lane will be closed about 600 feet west of Sare Road from July 6 through Oct. 2 for bridge removal and replacement. After that time, there will be lane restrictions with traffic control through Dec. 11.
Monroe County reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones. All closings are weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
