I-41 crash near Richmond Street causes 3-mile traffic backup May 28

Southbound lanes of Interstate 41 closed for about an hour on May 28 because of a crash near Richmond Street, the state Department of Transportation said.

The crash happened around 7:50 a.m. and caused all southbound lanes to close from Ballard Road/Outagamie County E to Richmond Street/State 47 in Appleton.

Traffic was backed up for nearly three miles during the morning while lanes were getting cleared.
