Scott Dixon says Felix Rosenqvist has 'Swedish Meatballs' on last lap of Indianapolis 500

Scott Dixon has driven an Indy car for more than a quarter century, but he rarely offers a spicy quote. He’s very cool in everything he does, hence the nickname “Ice Man.”

That changed, at least for a night, at the 2026 Indianapolis 500 Victory Celebration.

Dixon, who won the race in 2008 and finished 15th this year, congratulated winner Felix Rosenqvist — who is from Sweden — with a B (barely) SFW compliment.

“Felix, so happy for you, man. What a month. How about those big Swedish meatballs,” Dixon said, drawing laughs from the crowd at the Indiana Convention Center. “Those were fantastic on the last lap and a half there.”

Rosenqvist won a 1-lap shootout to edge David Malukas in the closest 1-2 finish in race history. Rosenqvist started Lap 200 in third place, dueled Meyer Shank Racing teammate Marcus Armstrong for much of the lap, and scooted to the outside of Malukas at the start/finish line.

Check out what Dixon was talking about from Rosenqvist’s vantage point.
