What to know about Indiana All-Star week:
History
This is the 88th year of the Indiana boys’ All-Stars and 51st year for the girls.
The Indiana boys hold a 107-46 advantage in their series with Kentucky that began in 1940, one year after the first All-Star team played Indiana state champion Frankfort. The Indiana girls have a 55-43 lead in their series with Kentucky that started in 1976. No games were played in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the boys’ All-Stars did not play in 1943 or 1944 because of World War II.
The Indiana boys have dominated Kentucky for two decades, winning 35 of the past 40 meetings. The five Kentucky victories in that time all came on Kentucky soil. The Indiana boys have not lost the Indiana home game since 1996. Indiana swept the series last year after splitting the games in 2023 and ’24.
On the girls’ side, the series has been far more competitive over the past decade. Kentucky swept the series last year, including a 106-103 double overtime win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, to avenge an Indiana sweep in 2024. The teams have split the last 16 games overall.
The Senior Indiana boys and the Senior Indiana girls lead their respective Junior rivals in games that began in 1996 by identical 42-12 counts. The Indiana Juniors lead in games the Kentucky Juniors, the boys ahead 9-5 and the girls 13-1.
