Man found shot in vehicle Saturday on Winton Avenue in Akron identified

The Summit County Medical Examiner has identified the man found with gunshot wounds to the chest in a car at a Winton Avenue address May 23 as a 21-year-old from Cleveland.

Nathan Hubbard was found by Akron police officers Saturday responding to the 1200 block of Winton Avenue in a gray Kia Sportage, according to the Akron police department. Hubbard had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Responding officers immediately administered first aid prior to paramedics arriving on scene. He was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General where he was later pronounced dead at 7:59 p.m.

The medical examiner’s office referred to the shooting as a homicide in a media statement sent Sunday morning.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to collect evidence, process the scene, and canvass the area for witnesses.
