A Kenosha man was arrested May 6 after sheriff’s detectives searched his home and seized more than $62,000 worth of illegal drugs, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office said May 22.
The 40-year-old was taken into custody at a residence in the 4600 block of 23rd Avenue. Investigators seized 12 types of illegal drugs, including fentanyl, cocaine, MDMA tablets, LSD, psilocybin mushrooms and large quantities of THC products.
Detectives also recovered more than $5,500 in cash and materials consistent with drug distribution, according to the sheriff’s office.
The investigation began in April after a federal law enforcement partner alerted county detectives to suspected drug dealing at the address.
Detectives from the Kenosha Drug Operations Group, a county drug enforcement unit and the sheriff’s Strike Team executed the search warrant together.
Criminal charges have been referred to the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office for multiple counts of possession with intent to deliver, one for each of the 12 drug types seized, along with drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug trafficking location.
Sheriff David Zoerner praised investigators in a statement and said his office would continue targeting drug trafficking in the county.
“Drug traffickers and organized criminal activity have no place in Kenosha County,” Zoerner said.
The investigation is still ongoing, the sheriff’s office said.
