LENAWEE COUNTY — The MHSAA Lower Peninsula track and field state finals are set, and Lenawee County will be well represented across three divisions. More than 60 individual event entries and relay qualifiers advanced out of regionals.
Two programs led the postseason push in Division 3, as Adrian Madison’s boys and Blissfield’s girls each completed dominant league and regional championship runs. Both teams captured LCAA titles before following up with regional crowns, showcasing their balance across sprints, distance, field events and relays.
Elsewhere, several county teams produced regional champions, runner-up finishes and key qualifying performances, putting Lenawee County in position for a strong showing at the state finals. Athletes who placed first and second automatically qualified. Athletes listed in third or lower qualified based on result, meeting the Division standard. Other athletes qualified based on early EQ qualifying marks.
Division 2
Adrian
Boys
Adrian followed its undefeated SEC White championship season with a runner-up finish at the Region 16-2 finals, finishing just behind Chelsea in the team standings while qualifying athletes across distance, field and adaptive events.Adrian also qualified two adaptive competitors, as Dillon Lauffer and Ethan Boprie each ran personal-best times of 20.26 and 20.32, respectively, in the 100-meter race. Boprie added personal-best performances in both the 200 and 400.
Girls
The Adrian girls team placed third behind Pinckney and Chelsea, highlighted by a sprint title and multiple distance qualifiers.
Tecumseh
Boys
Tecumseh placed seventh in the regional standings but advanced multiple competitors, including a regional champion and sprint finalist.
Girls
Tecumseh placed fourth overall, combining a field event champion with two strong relay performances.
Division 3
Adrian Madison hosted Division 3, Region 26 and earned a regional title on the boys side of the event. Blissfield girls track won a regional title.
Adrian Madison
Boys
Adrian Madison edged Columbia Central (86) and Clinton (85.5) to win the Region 26-3 title with 87 points, completing an LCAA and regional championship sweep. The Trojans used depth across multiple event groups to secure the tight victory.
Girls
Madison placed third with 78 points, receiving key contributions in the field events and hurdles.
Blissfield
Boys
Blissfield advanced multiple qualifiers, led by its distance runners and relay groups.
Girls
Blissfield dominated the regional with 112 points after winning the LCAA title, using strong distance, relay and field performances to separate from the field. Senior Hope Miller ran with her teammates in the 3,200 but did not leave the pack in the closing stretch of the race, with fellow senior Hailey Sills taking home the individual title honors.
Clinton
Boys
Clinton finished just behind the top two teams in one of the closest regional finishes, led by standout sprint and long jump performances. Freshman Wyatt Dehring led the way with an impressive combo of wins to continue his strong debut season.
Girls
Clinton produced a regional champion and multiple qualifiers across sprints and field events.
Onsted / Sand Creek
Each of Onsted and Sand Creek sends one boys and girls athlete to the state finals in field events.
Division 4
Division 4 athletes competed at Hayden Park in Hillsdale during the Region 35-4 finals. Hudson boys and girls track teams both took third place overall. Britton Deerfield had a top five finish in boys scoring. Morenci took fourth overall in girls team scoring.
