One driver died and another was taken to a hospital following a two-vehicle crash May 19 on Les Paul Parkway at River Valley Road in Waukesha.
Waukesha police, in a news release, said they’ve begun an investigation into the crash, which occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m., resulting in the temporary closing of Highway 59 and surrounding roads while the Wisconsin State Patrol conducted an accident reconstruction process.
The T-intersection includes the main access road to the Kwik Trip, the Village at Fox River Apartments and a residential subdivision just southeast of Genesee Road.
According to authorities, when police and rescue teams arrived, they discovered one of the drivers was seriously injured. That driver was taken to a hospital but was later declared deceased. The other driver was treated for minor injuries.
Each vehicle was occupied by a single individual, police said.
The identities and description of the drivers were not included in the news release, nor were the circumstances leading up to the accident. Police said additional information may be released later.
