Time change announced for Colts third preseason game

The start time for the Indianapolis Colts’ third preseason game with Detroit has been changed.

The game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium and still take place on Aug. 29, but kickoff will now be at 1:00 PM ET. It was originally set to be played at 3:00 PM ET.

The game will be broadcast locally on CBS4.

Along with facing Detroit in Week 3 of the preseason, the Colts are on the road against New England for the first game and then at home in Week 2 against Atlanta.

Indianapolis Colts updated 2026 preseason schedule

The Colts will have a number of position battles taking place this summer during training camp and the preseason. This includes competition at backup running back, identifying who WR3 will be, and whether rookie Jalen Farmer can earn a starting spot on the offensive line.

Defensively. Bryce Boettcher could compete with Akeem Davis-Gaither for the WILL linebacker role, while AJ Haulcy, Jonathan Owens, Hunter Wohler, and Juanyeh Thomas will compete for the starting safety snaps next to Cam Bynum.
