A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Columbus’ East Side, police said.
About 10:30 p.m. May 18, a man was riding a 1981 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Stelzer Road just north of East 7th Avenue, according to a Columbus police news release.
At the same time, a 2015 Kia Rio was traveling north on Stelzer Road and turned into the parking lot of 755 Stelzer Road, according to the news release. The motorcycle crashed into the side of the Kia and threw the motorcyclist onto the road, causing life-threatening injuries, police said.
The motorcyclist was taken to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center East Hospital, where he was died at 11:13 p.m.
Police did not say which driver was responsible for the crash or identify either driver. The Columbus police Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
