The Texas Tech Red Raiders are officially headed back to the Super Regionals, leaving zero doubt after delivering a dominant 14–2, five-inning run-rule victory over Ole Miss. Closing out the Lubbock Regional on Sunday in such a dominant fashion and locking in a second straight trip to the NCAA Super Regionals simply reinforces the Lady Raiders’ status as one of the most dangerous offenses in the country.
From the opening inning of the game, Texas Tech set the tone with pressure that never let up. They took early traffic and turned it into early runs. And once the lineup found its rhythm, the game quickly shifted into full control.
At the center of it all was Jackie Lis, who delivered a signature performance in the championship title setting in Lubbock. The utility standout drove in five RBIs, repeatedly coming through in crucial moments as the Red Raiders stretched the game out of reach.
Ole Miss briefly showed some life, putting a pair of runs on the board, but Texas Tech was able to answer immediately and often, refusing to let momentum linger on the other side. Even with a pitching change and bullpen adjustments from Ole Miss couldn’t slow the Red Raiders down. Late in the game, ace pitcher NiJaree Canady added to the onslaught in a pinch-hitting appearance. She laced a bases-loaded double to left that brought home two more runs and pushed the lead to 13–2.
By the fifth inning, the margin triggered the NCAA run rule, ending the game early and sealing the regional crown in dominant fashion. Texas Tech will now turn its attention to the Super Regionals, where it will face No. 2 seed Florida with a trip to the Women’s College World Series on the line.
