Florida State softball moved within a win of its 12th NCAA regional title after sweeping Saturday’s games to reach the Tallahassee Regional championship round.
The Seminoles defeated Jacksonville State and Stetson to advance and now must beat Central Florida in a potential doubleheader Sunday at JoAnne Graf Stadium to continue their postseason run.
UCF enters the title round unbeaten after winning both of its games and needs just one victory to clinch the regional and advance to the Super Regional. First pitch is scheduled for noon. If Florida State wins, a deciding second game will follow at 2:30 p.m.

Hayley Griggs ties the game with a leadoff home run | 1-1 – Bottom 3rd
The Seminoles waste little time responding to UCF, as Hayley Griggs blasts a solo home run to left field and ties the game.
She battled in her at-bat, fouling off multiple pitches to stay alive in a 2-2 count before hitting the eighth pitch of the at-bat over the fence.

UCF strikes first with a 2-out RBI | 1-0, UCF – Top 3rd
The Knights score first as Aubrey Evans hits an RBI double. Her liner splits the gap in left center field, and the relay throw from Isa Torres to the plate isn’t in time to catch Samantha Rey. Evans moves to third base on the throw in from Torres.
Jazzy Francik catches a soft line drive to end the half-inning and strands Evans at third.

The Seminoles went down in order as Isa Torres pops out, Jayson Beachum grounds out, and Ashtyn Danley couldn’t check her swing, resulting in a strikeout.

Jazzy Francik works a 1-2-3 first inning
Jazzy Francik needs just eight pitches to get out of the first inning. A pair of pop outs and a ground out to first base ends the half inning and sends the Seminoles to the plate.
