Safety on Water Street is a serious issue, but no one seems to have found a logical compromise which would be carding. Milwaukee has a curfew for juveniles, and much grief has ensued from violent acts when kids should be home. Just as bars have to ask for valid ID before serving a drink, the food truck order taker would have to reject orders from those 17 or under when curfew is in effect.
The food truck owners might object, but they have been arguing for equity with brick and mortar locales. The minor inconvenience pales in comparison to a projected loss of 40% of income stated by the food truck owners. Help small business owners and kids as well.
