Michigan football's 2027 class jumps in rankings with new commits

Michigan football gained its eighth commitment of the 2027 class when four-star wide receiver Quentin Burrell pledged to the class on Wednesday. The Wolverines, however, surprised fans with an additional pledge from four-star defensive tackle Xavier Muhammad.

Before Burrell’s commitment, the maize and blue were rated by 247Sports as the No. 29 recruiting class. With Burrell and Muhammad in the fold, the Wolverines have vaulted to No. 17 in the 247Sports team rankings. Rivals is even more bullish on the recruiting class: It lists Michigan 12th in the class.

The latest two commitments are Michigan’s two highest rated. The Wolverines are in good standing for more top prospects this month, including four-star running back Tyson Robinson and safety Tavares Harrington.
