An Oxnard man was arrested May 14 on suspicion of multiple felony gun-related offenses in connection with an April shooting.
The arrest stems from an April 12 incident at the Oxnard Mobile Home Lodge, where officers with the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of multiple shots fired, according to a department news release.
Officers arrived at the trailer park at 1301 Commercial Ave. around 6:50 p.m. and found an occupied home and vehicle that had been struck by gunfire, police officials said. There were no injuries reported.
Oxnard police investigators were later able to identify the person believed to be the shooter as a 32-year-old Oxnard man and obtained a warrant for his arrest, the police officials said.
On May 14 at about 2 p.m., police found the man in the 4100 block of Maulhardt Road and attempted to arrest the man before he ran from officers, officials said. He allegedly dropped a gun when he fled.
Officers used a police K-9 to detain the Oxnard man, police officials said. He was treated for moderate injuries and later taken to a local hospital.
The man was arrested on suspicion of felonies for assault with a firearm, shooting at an inhabited dwelling and unlawful transfer of a firearm as well as misdemeanors for resisting arrest and battery on a person, jail records show.
He was booked into Ventura County jail with bail set at $302,500, jail records show. He is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on May 18.
The police department has requested that anyone with information about the shooting call Detective Diego Estrada at 805-385-8291.
